My Story

My name is Ken Freeman Jr., and I am a Music Production major at the Los Angeles Film School.

Currently, I have multiple ongoing collaborations with artists in my local area. I am also the Vice President of a nonprofit organization call Rap 2 Recovery. Our main focus includes helping struggling creatives develop the skills necessary to deal with sobriety and self care while teaching musical and coping skills. Additionally, I am the Minister of music here at my local church.

Prior to my music production studies, I spent much of my youth dedicating my time to music. I taught myself piano, guitar, and the knowledge of music production that I had prior to attending college. My experiences included gig-work, radio performances and interviews, poetry and music festivals, performing at yearly sobriety celebrations to encourage people who were struggling to remain healthy and thrive, and performances at various other venues from Utah to Georgia. I was also lucky enough to be involved in youth mentorship. These experiences laid the foundation for my current work.

In the future, I hope to earn a Master’s degree in music production. This will lay the foundation of creating my dream: A Creative Arts Center. By doing this, I hope to obtain national recognition for our nonprofit organization as we share our knowledge, and lay a solid foundation for the next generation of musicians.
